The B2B production arm of RAAQUU — built on Adil Ghani's two decades in ceramics and seven years of a globally shipped craft brand.
Every ceramics manufacturer starts somewhere. Ours started with a single artist, a raku kiln, and a refusal to compromise on what fire could do to clay.
Ceramics Manufacturer is the B2B production arm of RAAQUU — the Malaysian ceramic studio founded by master ceramic artist Adil Ghani. What began as one of Southeast Asia's most respected raku pottery brands has, over years of custom commissions, revealed a gap in the market few manufacturers can properly fill. This is how we got here — and why bringing manufacturing in-house was the natural next step.
Adil Ghani has spent more than 20 years understanding the organic rhythm and temperament of ceramics — not as a factory operator, but as an artist who knows intimately how clay behaves, how glazes react, and how fire transforms raw material into finished form.
The company behind the work, Benchmark Ceramic, was founded in 2013 in Terengganu, Malaysia, and carries more than 15 years of ceramic-production experience. In 2020, Adil founded the RAAQUU brand — named after the raku firing technique — to make the world of raku ceramics accessible globally. That depth of craft knowledge is rare in manufacturing: most factories can produce to a spec; far fewer understand why a form cracks, why a glaze crawls, or how to hold a tolerance through firing shrinkage. Today RAAQUU's handmade pieces ship to collectors in 32 countries, and that same mastery now stands behind everything we manufacture.

The turning point came through our custom work. Brands, designers, researchers and studios kept arriving with the same problem: "We have a design. We need it made properly, at volume, by people who actually understand ceramics — and we can't find anyone who'll take us seriously below massive order quantities."
We heard it from an eco-homeware brand that needed precision-tolerance planters built around specific internal components — our most technically demanding project to date, delivered for Urban Roots. From a university research team needing marine-safe tiles engineered for coral reef rehabilitation. From interior designers furnishing hotels in Kuala Lumpur and resort interiors in Niseko, and from acoustic engineers needing a sculptural diffuser cast to exacting geometry.
These weren't requests a conventional factory could serve well. They needed craft-level understanding and manufacturing capability — prototyping a single unit to prove a design, then scaling to small batches, then full production, without losing finish quality. That combination barely existed. So we built it.

Ceramics Manufacturer exists because the manufacturing conversation deserves its own home, separate from the RAAQUU gallery. When you're sourcing production — moulds, tolerances, materials, Incoterms, lead times — you need a partner focused on exactly that. What you get is the best of both origins:
Adil Ghani's craft knowledge applied to your production, so problems are caught at the mould stage — not the container stage.
Mould-making, slip casting, jiggering, pressing, glazing and firing under one roof, in stoneware, earthenware and porcelain.
From 1-unit prototypes to 50-unit small batches to 1,000+ production runs — because we remember needing something made properly before committing to volume.
The same export experience that already puts RAAQUU pieces in 32 countries.
We are still, at our core, Adil Ghani and the team behind RAAQUU — the brand built on more than fifteen years of ceramic production, now operating as Benchmark Ceramic Sdn. Bhd. The kiln hasn't changed. The standard hasn't changed. What's changed is who we can serve: not only collectors of one-of-a-kind art, but the brands, designers and innovators who need that same mastery applied to their own vision, at the scale their business demands.
That's why a dedicated ceramics manufacturer is the way forward. Because the market didn't need another factory. It needed a manufacturer that thinks like an artist.
